North Zealand Tour – 7 Hours
Set off on an enjoyable narrated tour to Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød. This elegant Dutch Renaissance structure straddles three small islands and has all the trappings of a fairytale castle, but it was gainfully employed as royal residence and setting for important ceremonial events from the 1600s to the 1850s. It now serves as the National Museum of History and is best known for its outstanding collection of portraits, the largest of its kind in Denmark. Your guided tour begins at the Neptune Fountain and visits the rooms of the King's Wing, the Church, and the impressive Knight's Hall, which boasts an intricate carved wooden ceiling.
Take photos of the Royal Family's summer residence Fredensborg Palace during a brief stop on route.
Heading further north through the picturesque countryside of Northern Zealand, you will find the town of Elsinore. Situated in Elsinore, the magnificent structure Kronborg Castle was chosen by William Shakespeare as the setting for his play, Hamlet. It is a suitably dramatic Renaissance castle, built in 1420 and expanded in the 1500s, situated on the narrow sound between Denmark and Sweden. Kronborg Castle is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site.

Malmö and Lund – 7 Hours

Malmö
is Sweden’s third-largest city. Here, Scandinavia's tallest building twists its way skyward, gazing down over the vast Öresund bridge – both modern engineering marvels that reflect multicultural Malmö's progressive outlook.
Focusing on the area around Stortorget (the town square) and lively Lilla Torget (the little square) Malmö's Old Town is a gorgeous warren of cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses.
Located about 2.5km northwest of the Old Town, buzzing, bayside Västra Hamnen represents the modern face of Malmö. It's a popular spot to stroll, sip coffee and browse boutiques, but mostly people come to marvel at the Öresund bridge and the Turning Torso
After Malmö we continue to Lund, founded by the Danes around 1000 AD and once the seat of the largest archbishopric in Europe, Lund is the second-oldest city in Sweden. It's also one of its loveliest, surrounded by beech trees and glowing with an impressive architectural legacy. Its magnificent, medieval old town is centered on its strikingly beautiful cathedral. Radiating around it is the country's oldest, most prestigious university (c 1666). Perhaps ironically, the university keeps Lund young, its vibrant, engaged youth driving a lively arts and culinary scene.

Copenhagen Walking tour in the pursuit of Hygge – 4 Hours

Hygge is as Danish as pork roast and it goes far in illuminating the Danish soul. In essence hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life in the company of good people. The warm glow of candlelight is also hygge. Friends and family – well that’s hygge too.

In the summertime, hygge is spending time in the sun, over a beer at the pier, a picnic in one of the city parks or just hanging out with good friends in one of Copenhagen’s many picturesque and historical back yards.

This 4-hour walking tour will highlight what hygge is all about. The tour starts by exploring the area around the Latin quarters an around the pedestrian street Strøget.

The Latin Quarter is one of the most entertaining areas of Denmark's capital city, with a young-spirited undertone around the vicinity of Copenhagen University. The Latin Quarter is well known for its hang-out spots, alternative shopping and 17th-century architecture.

Part of Danish hygge is having coffee with friends, so we will pick up a cup of coffee to go and a cinnamon roll at Sankt Peders Bakery, Copenhagen oldest bakery which was founded in 1652.

We continue our tour by visiting the church of our Lady. The Copenhagen Cathedral in its present shape is an unpretentious building in Neo-Classicist style designed by the architect C.F. Hansen. It is situated close to the University of Copenhagen. An inside visit to the Round Tower in included. It was built as part of the Trinity Complex, named after the Holy Trinity and designed to accommodate three things: the observatory at the top of the tower, the library on the floor above the Trinity Church and of course the church itself. From its vantage point you will be able to peak into some of Copenhagen’s old, historical and cozy court yards before we head over to the Kings Garden, a popular green spot in the city center.

Although never large in numbers, the Jews in Denmark have nevertheless had a substantial and important influence on Danish culture and history. The sights on your tour includes The Round Tower with its golden Hebrew inscriptions; the statue of the world famous Danish Jewish Nobel Prize winner, Niels Bohr; and the Trinitatis church where the Torah scrolls from the Copenhagen Synagogue were hidden during the Second World War and were thus saved from destruction.
You will be informed of the present-day Jewish community, its size and the various components that went into its making. The story of the five dark years under Nazi occupation, the deeds of the Danes and their king, Christian X will not be forgotten.
The Danish Jewish Museum, designed by world famous architect Daniel Libeskind, opened in 2004 and is a must-see for anyone interested in the Jews of Denmark. Located in the center of Copenhagen, the museum is a great starting point for exploring Jewish history in Denmark. The museum presents 400 years of Danish Jewish history, including the rescue and deportation of the Danish Jews in 1943. Christianshavn & Dragør tour – 4 Hours

Narrow cobbled streets, Michelin-starred restaurants and cozy cafes along the canal. Just across the bridge Knippels Bro is Christianshavn, officially part of Copenhagen city center. Christianshavn is a much-desired area for Copenhageners to live in. And it is easy to see why. It is central, full of bars and restaurants and has a unique maritime atmosphere.
Dragør was founded in the 12th century, and it grew quickly as a fishing port. During the medieval period it was an international marketplace for Hanseatic merchants who came each year to buy herring. In the early sixteenth century, King Christian II invited a group of farmers from the Netherlands - at the time, a more agriculturally advanced nation than Denmark - to settle here to produce food for the royal household. You still find many Dutch names on the doors in Dragør. The town center is very idyllic with its characteristic yellow painted houses, thatched straw roofs and cobblestone streets, plus a charming harbor that is still an active fishing port.
Christiansborg Palace is located on the tiny island of Slotsholmen and houses Denmark's Parliament. It is the Prime Minister's residence and where the Queen of Denmark receives visiting royalty and heads of state in its royal reception rooms. In the Marble Hall, see the incredible, colorful tapestries displaying Danish and world history over the past 1,000 year.

You continue the excursion at the Cisternerne, an old water reservoir built in 1856-1859. The cisterns are located on Frederiksberg Hill, 31 meters above sea level, the highest point of the very flat Danish capital. The natural pressure, when the water was let out, allowed the water to travel all the way up into the new Copenhagen town houses contributing considerably to the improvement of the water supplied to locals.

In 1933 the cisterns stopped functioning as a water reservoir and for many decades these subterranean chambers were forgotten until 2013 when the building became a part of The Frederiksberg Museums.  Today, the old subterranean water reservoir of Soendermarken is home of events and art exhibitions that awaken all senses. Gdansk - Window to Freedom - Half Day Tour
In the Footsteps of Solidarity in Gdansk
Half day tour

In the late 1970s the city’s Lenin Shipyard saw the birth of the SOLIDARITY, the first independent trade union in the Eastern Block countries, which made Lech Walesa a household name and began the process of transformation across the entire region.

We will visit the St Bridget’s Church, a record of the Solidarity period with the tombstone of the murdered priest Jerzy Popieuszko, a collection of crosses from the 1980-88 strikes and a door with bas-reliefs of scenes from Solidarity’s history.

Then will have a photo stop by the Monument to the Shipyard Workers, erected in memory of the workers killed in the riots of 1970 and will continue to the „Roads to freedom” exhibition, a moving tribute to the Solidarity movement. The exhibition is a real highlight. Its vestibule is a replica of primitive shop of the seventies, with not too many products to sell. The key place is the hall where the delegates of the strike committee and the representatives of Polish authorities signed first the post Second War history of Poland agreement between the representatives of the people of Poland and the communist authorities.

Everything is original here, just to mention: the table, chairs, boards with demands, historic ballpoint that Lech Walesa signed the agreement with etc. In one of the halls , the visitors can watch  moving documentary film, too.

Gdansk & Malbork Castle
Full day tour

We start the tour from the Upland Gate - a fragment of the city's fortifications and one of its main gates. Just behind it, we pass by a baked-brick construction consisting of the Prison Tower and the Torture House - relics of the Gothic defence walls from the 15th century. The Golden Gate, situated next to the Prison Tower, opens onto the Long Market - a magnificent street, with Patrician mansions decorated with late Renaissance and Baroque facades - a real feast for the eyes!!! It is here that the richest burghers of Gdansk used to live. Next, we can see the Main Town Hall, with a life-sized figure of king Sigismund Augustus on the top. Beyond the Main Town Hall, we admire the Artus Court - a building used for Hanseatic League meetings, the most beautiful court in all the Hanseatic cities. Just behind it rises the tower of St. Mary's Basilica, a part of the most precious and largest red-brick Gothic church. On our way back we pass by Mariacka Street, with its gabled terraced houses and elegant boutiques, leading to the Long Wharf on the Motlawa River. At the river's edge stands the characteristic Gdansk Crane, where the tour ends.
Afterwards, drive to Malbork to see the famous fortress of the Teutonic Knights. The magnificent castle is located on the banks of the Nogat River. A Pulsating Harbour - Gdansk/Gdynia/Sopot - Full Day Tour
A Pulsating Harbour - Tri-City Complex: Gdanks/Gdynia/Sopot
Gdansk, as fascinating and special city as one could hope to find anywhere, was once known as Danzig - name etched deep in European history. It is a major harbour, first German, then Hanseatic, Polish, Prussian, Free City and finally Polish. Desired by many, the city was often fought over. Indeed, it was the nearby Westerplatte that the first shots of history’s greatest war were fired in 1939. Later in the late 1970s the city’s Lenin Shipyard saw the birth of the Solidarity Trade Union, which made Lech Walesa a household name and began the process of transformation across the entire region. Gdansk has not forgotten its history. The lovingly restored buildings of the Old Town and waterfront provide picturesque and interesting surroundings, in which one may take a stroll, dine or shop for the city’s famous amber jewelry. In turn, the impressive Monument to Murdered Shipyard Workers gives the visitor a pause for thought about all that has happened since the 1970s.But further surprises await, for Gdansk is just the largest component of the Tri-City of Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot. North-south development along the coast left beautiful and unspoiled woods and forests on hills just inland, and allows the visitor to travel smoothly from place to place by road or by local railway. Required stops for all include Gdynia, the lively naval, fishing and commercial port with its historical ships, beaches and the Oceanographic Museum; Sopot, an elegant beach resort of villas and hotels famous for its musical and cultural festivals; and Gdansk-Oliwa, a suburb boasting beautiful parks and a cathedral, whose world-famous organ Poland-largest entertains and entrances all who hear it. Lively, attractive, cultured, historical: the Gdansk area is as varied and eternally fascinating as the sea, which brought its fame and fortune.

Helsinki City tour – 3 Hours

Helsinki was founded in 1550 by the Swedish King Gustav Vasa. As a result of the war of 1808-1809, Sweden was forced to cede Finland to Russia. In 1812 Tsar Alexander declared Helsinki the capital of autonomous Finland. In 1917 the city was to become the capital of the independent Republic of Finland. In safeguarding its historical heritage, Helsinki has again and again been forced to reassess the past. Cultural influences from both East and West have molded the life of the city, which has nevertheless preserved an outlook on life that is inherently Finnish. Over the years the city has spread, and its population multiplied, yet nature is still close at hand - the sea and islands are dominant features of the landscape.
Among the most striking features of the Helsinki architecture are the largish areas built in a uniform style. The city thus has whole blocks and even districts representing Neoclassical, Art Nouveau, National Romantic, functional or modern architecture. The oldest area in Helsinki that has been preserved intact is the Senate Square. Reminiscent of St. Petersburg in its neoclassical style.
In the 1970s Helsinki acquired some important new public buildings - e.g. the Finlandia Hall, the City Theatre, the new National Opera, the official residence of the Finnish President and the Temppeliaukio Church - which are now important landmarks on the Helsinki street scene.
A city tour includes all essential sights in the city center including the Sibelius Park with the Sibelius Monument, an unusual steel monument from 1967, commemorating the great Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Pay a visit to Temppeliaukio Church (The Church in the Rock), completed in 1969 and carved out of a solid rock and topped with a copper dome.  Only the dome is visible from the outside. The pantheon-like interior is enhanced by the rugged granite walls and the copper-plated cupola. The excellent acoustics make this a favorite venue for concerts. Please note that inside visits to the Rock Church cannot be guaranteed due to religious services and holidays.

Helsinki Suomenlinna Fortress tour – 3 Hours

Built in the second half of the 18th century by Sweden on a group of islands located at the entrance of Helsinki's harbour, this fortress is an especially interesting example of European military architecture of the time. Suomenlinna, until 1918 Viapori (Finnish), or Sveaborg (Swedish), was an inhabited sea fortress built on six islands and which now forms part of the city of Helsinki, the capital of Finland.

Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage site and popular with tourists and locals. The guided walking tour takes you through the historic Susisaari and Kustaanmiekka areas and provides information on the colourful past of the fortress. The tour introduces, for example, the Great Courtyard and the dry dock, which once was one of the largest in the world.
The tour includes a return ferry service to / from Suomenlina Maritime Fortress, a guided tour with an official Suomenlina guide and an entrance to Suomenlinna Museum. Helsinki Porvoo Tour – 5 Hours

Porvoo is Finland's second oldest town and the most picturesque one. In other words, a beautiful area full of history. The town of Porvoo was granted town status in the 14th century and is one of the treasures of traditional Finnish architecture.
The original town plan from the Middle Ages, features the low, small houses, picturesque yards and narrow streets and forms a historically unique wooden town environment.
The symbols of Porvoo – the red warehouses on the riverbanks – tell tall tales of seafaring and trading. The guest marina and ferry dock at Jokiranta are humming with life, especially during the summer months.
The bridge at Aleksanterinkatu, completed in autumn 2004, and the newly restored Jokiranta area now encourage locals to take an evening walk and enjoy the latest improvements to the downtown area. Flower beds, fountains, cafés and sundecks have turned the shore into an attractive gathering place. The Market Square is the heart of the city, surrounded by City Hall, the bus station, specialty boutiques and services. The range of products at the marketplace varies by season.

Helsinki Design tour - 6 hours

Helsinki offers you a unique and fascinating journey through the centuries and across cultures through its buildings and architecture. The city’s architecture is typified by Nordic minimalism and refinement, and with its modernism, functionalism it also encompasses the largest concentration of Art Nouveau buildings in Northern Europe.

For many Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) is synonymous with Finland with architecture and with design.
After qualifying as an architect from Helsinki Institute of Technology in 1921, Aalto set up his first architectural practice in Jyväskylä. His early works followed the tenets of Nordic Classicism, the predominant style at that time.

During the tour, pay a visit to Temppeliaukio Church (The Church in the Rock), completed in 1969 and carved out of a solid rock and topped with a copper dome.  Only the dome is visible from the outside. The pantheon-like interior is enhanced by the rugged granite walls and the copper-plated cupola. The excellent acoustics make this a favorite venue for concerts.

The Senate Square is dominated by four buildings designed by Carl Ludvig Engel between 1822 and 1852: Helsinki Cathedral, the Government Palace, the main building of the University of Helsinki and the National Library of Finland.

The Central Railway Station was designed by Eliel Saarinen in 1909 and the station was opened in 1919. The station is mostly clad in Finnish granite, and its distinguishing features are its clock tower and the two pairs of statues holding the spherical lamps, lit at night-time, on either side of the main entrance.

The City Hall was designed by C.L. Engel as a hotel in 1833, the building has been the City Hall since the 1930s. The Helsinki coat-of-arms can be seen on the tympanum.

Shipboard Policies
  • Special Dietary Needs - Advance Notice Required
Guests with food allergies should contact NCL's Access Desk to discuss NCL's policies and procedures concerning special diets and specific allergies prior to their cruise. Because the vessels are supplied all over the world, it may be easier to meet specific food allergy requirements in some countries, but very difficult in others. NCL can arrange to have no sugar and low sodium meals for guests with those specific medical dietary restrictions upon request. Refrigerators are available in many staterooms for storing insulin.

  • Smoking Policy
Public areas throughout all NCL ships are smoke-free. Guests who smoke regular or electronic cigarettes may do so on their balcony, in the casino, or in the Cigar Bar. Guests who prefer pipes or cigars may smoke them in the Cigar Bar or designated smoking lounge. Cigarettes, pipes, and cigars are allowed outside on open decks, with the exception of food venues, sports decks, kids’ pool areas and other designated nonsmoking areas). Smoking inside any suite or stateroom is prohibited, and will result in a $250 cleaning charge added to guest's onboard account.

  • Pregnancy Policy
Norwegian will make every effort to accommodate pregnant guest, providing they have not entered the 24th week of pregnancy when the cruise ends. Prior to their cruise pregnant guests should include their cruise details in an email to the Access Desk (accessdesk@ncl.com) with a medical certificate establishing due date.

  • Wheelchair Access & Special Needs
NCL aims to provide a safe and accessible cruise experience for all guests with special requirements to the extent that is feasible. Guests or their travel agents must contact the Access Desk and provide a Special Accommodation Requirements Information Form in advance of their cruise. Access Desk coordinators need at least 90 days for interpreters and 60 days for all other requirements. Pre-arranging for special assistance helps travel proceed more smoothly. Assistance is arranged for at the time of booking upon identification of the guest's specific service request through the dedicated toll free Access Desk number (1-866-584-9756)

In limited situations (either on board or ashore), NCL may find it necessary to ask guests to make alternative travel arrangements, such as if a disabled guest is unable to satisfy certain specified safety and other criteria, even when provided with appropriate auxiliary aids and services. Guests who are unable to care for their basic needs (e.g. dressing, eating, and attending safety drills) MUST have a capable traveling companion. It is essential that NCL be notified of any special medical, physical, or other requirement guests may have as soon as possible, including whether the guest intends to bring a scooter with them.

    Guests with Mobility Impairments
A wheelchair, scooter, or walker may be the primary mobility assistance aid for getting on and off the ship for guests who cannot walk on their own. Norwegian Cruise Line has a limited supply of wheelchairs onboard. In order to accommodate guests, Norwegian Cruise Line wheelchairs are reserved exclusively for embarkation and disembarkation situations. If a guest will require regular use of a wheelchair, it is strongly recommended that they bring their own. Guests may also make rental arrangements onboard from a limited supply of rental wheelchairs which are available onboard on a first come, first serve basis.

Motorized wheelchairs and scooters are allowed in accessible staterooms provided that they are powered by gel-cell batteries and the chargers must be adaptable to 110 volts. Should a guest choose a stateroom that has not been designated as accessible, they will need to bring a collapsible wheelchair. If the guest has a motorized wheelchair or scooter, the width must not exceed 21 inches to enter the stateroom door. All scooters and wheelchairs MUST be stored in the stateroom. Due to the safety requirements and regulations, they cannot be stored in the hallways, stairways, or any other public area. Beach wheelchairs can be rented for use on Norwegian Cruise Line's private island.

For additional details on the prearranged rental program, please contact NCL's authorized vendor, Special Needs at Sea, at (800)513-4515 or (954)585-0575, or via fax at (954)585-0577.

Requests are subject to a number of considerations, including but not limited to, the availability of interpreters and cabin space. Sign language interpreting services may be provided on cruises that depart from and/or return to the U.S.
    • TTY Phones are available onboard all ships except Norwegian Spirit that use handy phones and text messaging.

Guests mustcontact the Access desk prior to the cruise for more information on Norwegian Cruise Line's policies and procedures.

    Oxygen
The ship is not equipped to provide guests with oxygen services other than on an emergency basis in the Ship's Medical Center.
